Walmart Now Allows MCF (With Restrictions) 📦

Walmart Now Allows MCF (With Restrictions) 📦

Yes, you can use Amazon’s Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) to fulfill Walmart orders — but it’s not as simple as many agencies claim. Walmart’s policy allows it only under very specific conditions, and misunderstanding these rules can lead to serious consequences like account warnings or suspension.

🔍 What Walmart Allows

Walmart’s official packaging and shipping policy is clear: You may not use packaging or logistics services that reference Amazon (or any other retailer).

This means:

✅ Allowed:

  • Blank, non-branded boxes
  • Unbranded packing slips
  • Unbranded delivery vehicles
  • Seller-branded address on the label

🚫 Prohibited:

  • Amazon-branded boxes or tape
  • Amazon Logistics tracking or branded delivery vehicles
  • Any promotional inserts, invoices, or slips referencing Amazon
  • Drop-shipping from another marketplace like Amazon directly to a Walmart customer

The Fine Print of Using Amazon MCF on Walmart ⚠️

This is where most agencies get it wrong. Just because you can technically fulfill a Walmart order with Amazon inventory doesn’t mean you’re compliant.

To stay within Walmart’s rules, you must:

  • Enable blank box packaging on Amazon
  • Block Amazon Logistics as the carrier
  • Ensure your shipping software honors those settings
The problem? Not all tools do. And even when they do, there are cost and operational tradeoffs:

💰 Cost Consideration

MCF pricing has increased and often costs more than using Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS). So why do sellers still use it?

  • Simplicity (if you already store inventory in FBA)
  • Avoiding duplication of inventory across multiple fulfillment centers
  • Faster integration for newer sellers
But remember: you're trading margin for convenience.

Shopify, Bigcommerce, and Sellbrite do not support the settings required for Walmart compliance (blank box + block Amazon Logistics). This makes its automated MCF order processing non-compliant for Walmart.

I use Veeqo to trigger compliant MCF shipments for Walmart orders. 🛠 Veeqo (Free from Amazon)

Veeqo does support:

✅ Blank box fulfillment

✅ Blocking Amazon Logistics

✅ Automating MCF orders across channels

You can also use Veeqo for inventory syncing if you want an all-in-one tool, but I haven’t tested that part yet.

🖐 Manual Option

  • If you prefer to avoid software altogether, you can:
  • Manually create MCF orders inside Amazon Seller Central
  • Make sure to manually select blank box + block Amazon Logistics
  • This is slower, but works in a pinch — especially for one-off orders

⚠️ Tip for Handling Times

Walmart expects 1-day handling — but if you're using MCF, it’s safer to request a lag time exemption.

📬 You’ll need to open a case with Walmart support to request a 2-day handling window.

Final Thought: Don’t Get Burned 🔥

Many agencies are promoting MCF for Walmart without giving proper guidance. If you don’t configure it correctly, you risk:

  • Packaging violations
  • Account performance hits
  • Suspension

Always follow Walmart’s rules and use the right software — and don’t rely on generic advice from consultants who don’t show their setup.
